Flying for Beginners

Learning to fly is a serious and expensive commitment. Many new student pilots come in with the incorrect assumption that learning to fly a plane is similar to learning to ride a motorcycle or sail a boat. Interested applicants come in very unprepared for the study load associated with the skill. Flying the actual airplane is baseline! To earn a basic pilots license applicants must develop an understanding of many scientific elements including weather, aircraft systems, enhanced navigation, risk management & many more. I usually tell people that a basic private pilot certificate will take the same amount of effort as a full semester college level science course, except that unlike a college class the material is directly applicable to the task and might actually save your life! It's very important that interested pilots select a training style that suites their retention needs. Union Flight aims to be flexible, however, it is up to the student to tell us what they want.
